FC Barcelona brushed aside the challenges of playing in front of just 6,000 fans and without Lamine Yamal, as Hansi Flick's side thrashed Valencia 6-0 at the Johan Cruyff Stadium on Sunday night.

Barca, forced to use the smaller venue with Camp Nou renovations still awaiting city approval, made light work of Valencia. Fermin Lopez, Raphinha, and Robert Lewandowski each struck twice, with three goals coming in a devastating 13-minute spell between the 52nd and 65th minutes.

Earlier, debutant Vladyslav Vanat looked set to give Girona a much-needed win away to Celta Vigo after three straight defeats, only for Daley Blind's late foul to concede an injury-time penalty. Borja Iglesias converted to earn Celta a 1-1 draw.

Levante collected its first point of the season but was left frustrated after letting a 2-0 lead slip in a 2-2 draw at home to Real Betis. Ivan Romero and Etta Eyong struck early, but Cucho Hernandez pulled one back before Pablo Fornals salvaged a point for the visitors 10 minutes from time.

Osasuna defeated Rayo Vallecano 2-0 with goals from Raul Garcia and Iker Benito in the 14th and 76th minutes.

On Saturday, Real Madrid overcame Dean Huijsen's early red card to win 2-1 at Real Sociedad. Kylian Mbappe pounced on a poor backpass after 11 minutes, before Arda Guler doubled the lead just before halftime from Mbappe's assist. Mikel Oyarzabal pulled one back from the penalty spot after Dani Carvajal's handball, and Sociedad nearly equalized when a shot ricocheted off both posts before bouncing out.

Atletico Madrid claimed its first win of the campaign, beating Villarreal 2-0 with goals from Pablo Barrios and debutant Nico Gonzalez.

Alaves ended Athletic Bilbao's perfect start with a 1-0 win, thanks to Denis Suarez's deflected cross, while Getafe beat 10-man Oviedo 2-0 through Mario Martin and Borja Mayoral. Federico Vinas saw red for the visitors.

On Friday, Rafa Mir, on loan at Elche from Sevilla, scored a spectacular free kick to help his side earn a 2-2 draw against his parent club and extend their unbeaten run.
