FC Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez insisted he has no intention of leaving the club after producing a display that showed why he is important to coach Hansi Flick.
Lopez scored the opening two goals of Barca's 5-0 win over Como in the traditional pre-season Joan Gamper friendly and also helped his side create further chances with his constant pressure as the Italian side looked to play the ball out from defense.
There has been talk that Lopez could be sold to help the club raise much-needed fund. However, speaking after the game where he was named MVP, the 22-year-old insisted he was staying put.
"I want to stay here. It's my dream and I'll stay ... a lot of things have been said, but I'm going to continue defending these colors and working hard. The fans can rest easy," he insisted, before discussing the game.
"It was a great game from the entire team that will do us good," he said, adding that his high workrate on the pitch was "non-negotiable".
Barcelona will kick off its title defense in Mallorca on August 16th.
