The National Big Data (Guizhou) Comprehensive Pilot Zone showcased the big data capabilities and development of Guizhou province at the 3rd China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) recently held in Beijing.

At this year's CISCE, Guizhou established dedicated exhibition booths in the Digital Technology Chain area for the first time, comprehensively presenting new products, technologies and applications to foster enterprise partnerships and market expansion, according to a representative of the Guizhou Sub-Council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).

The comprehensive pilot zone has, since its approval in 2016, promoted the deep integration of big data with the real economy, forging a path of big data development with distinctive Guizhou characteristics.

In recent years, Guizhou has actively built digital infrastructure centered on "data centers + computing power," attracting major enterprises such as Huawei, Apple, Tencent, Alibaba and JD.com to establish data centers. This has made Guizhou a national hub node in the integrated computing power network. 

At the joint exhibition booth, enterprises including Guizhou Big Data Group, a state-owned enterprise established by the Guizhou government; Baishan Cloud, China’s second-largest independent edge cloud service provider; and Huawei Cloud, one of the world’s fastest-growing cloud platforms, displayed their latest achievements in technological innovation and industrial integration.

A representative from the pilot zone explained that Guizhou is working to build a national computing power base and is advancing the "Eastern Data, Western Computing" project. The province has attracted leading enterprises including Huawei, Tencent and China's three major telecom operators to establish intelligent computing centers. Currently, 48 key data centers are under construction or in operation in the province.

Large-scale model applications are rapidly expanding across key industries in Guizhou. Over 50 application scenarios have been implemented in sectors such as tire manufacturing, power generation and chemical production. The digital transformation adoption rate among large-scale enterprises in these three sectors exceeds 90%.

The province has also been approved to build the National Data Element Comprehensive Pilot Zone. It ranks among the top in the country for data sharing and openness, placing third in the nation's provincial data openness index for four consecutive years. Guizhou has pioneered the listing of enterprise data assets on balance sheets and the issuance of intellectual property-based data mortgage loans. 

Meanwhile, Guizhou Big Data Group also launched China's first big data exchange — the Guiyang Big Data Exchange — which officially opened in 2015. It now hosts over 900 registered data vendors, with more than 2,500 listed data products and over 5,000 completed trades. As of 2024, the cumulative transaction volume reached almost 7.4 billion yuan, representing a 200% increase from 2023.
