SpeedBot Robotics showcased its automated paint defect detection system for automotive manufacturing at the third China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) last week, calling the event a vital platform for expanding industry connections in China's smart vehicle sector.

"The expo is not only a showcase of technologies, but also a platform that fosters collaborative innovation across the industrial chain," said Liu Tingting, deputy general manager of SpeedBot Robotics. "We hope to connect with more potential clients and industry leaders through this event and promote SpeedBot's intelligent products and solutions in the automotive sector."

The company's PaintPro Paint Defect Detection System is designed to detect and repair paint surface defects in car assembly plants. It integrates SpeedBot's 3D deflection imaging and AI detection technologies, enabling automated inspection and repair through coordinated robotic arms.

The system supports various vehicle models and mixed-color inspections, addressing efficiency and consistency issues in manual inspection processes, according to SpeedBot.

Liu said the expo had brought together resources and experts from across the smart vehicle industry.

"SpeedBot plans to leverage this platform to build connections with stakeholders at every level of the automotive supply chain, including automakers, component suppliers, technology solution providers, investors and analysts," she said.

The company said it engaged in technical exchanges and gained insights into industry trends and policy developments to optimize its product strategies and remain competitive.

Founded in 2018 in Changsha, Hunan province, SpeedBot has established offices in Chinese cities including Tianjin, Ningbo and Guiyang, with overseas branches in Germany, Singapore, the United States and Canada.

The third CISCE was held in Beijing from July 16-20.
