At the third China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), an auto-aircraft hybrid drew crowds at the Smart Vehicle Chain section. The eye-catching "Land Aircraft Carrier" modular flying car was developed by XPENG AeroHT, an ecosystem venture of XPeng.

The vehicle is the world's only car capable of housing an aircraft — and the only aircraft compact enough to fit into a car trunk. Featuring the world's first onboard automatic separation and reconnection system, the modular flying car allows its ground and aerial components to detach or combine with a single click in just five minutes, seamlessly switching between driving and flying modes.

The flying device is an electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft equipped with foldable propellers and arms. It offers a 270-degree panoramic dual-seat intelligent cockpit, with both the main body and propellers constructed from carbon fiber for a balance of strength and lightness.

According to Li Junhao from XPENG AeroHT's sales department, while users must obtain a sports pilot certificate to operate it, the system is designed for ease of use, supporting both manual and autonomous operation. Full-process intelligent flight assistance is available, including one-click takeoff and landing, automatic route planning, and flight management.

The ground vehicle — referred to as the "mothership" — doubles as a mobile supercharging station. The extended-range electric vehicle can recharge the aircraft whether stationary or in motion, enabling up to six flights per full tank and charge. Its six-wheel design increases storage space and load capacity for the aircraft, while also enhancing off-road capability.

A potential buyer from Canada praised the concept as "very interesting," and described the idea of flying an aircraft on vacation as "amazing."

Currently available for pre-order, the Land Aircraft Carrier is expected to enter mass production and begin deliveries in 2026, according to XPENG AeroHT.

Founded in 2020, XPENG AeroHT is Asia's largest flying car company. The company said at the 3rd CISCE that it is committed to becoming a global leader in low-altitude mobility, aiming to make flight more accessible and free.
