On July 1, Shenzhen officially launched a new centralized “instant tax refund” service point at Kingglory Plaza in Luohu District, enhancing convenience for overseas visitors and marking a major step toward the city’s goal of becoming an international consumption hub.
Since Shenzhen introduced its “Instant Tax Refund at Purchase” policy in December 2023, the city has continued to improve the system to make inbound shopping more accessible and attractive. The newly opened refund point allows international travelers to claim tax refunds immediately after making qualifying purchases, eliminating the need for complex procedures at departure.
The centralized refund model integrates multiple merchants under a unified settlement mechanism, which reduces the cash handling burden on individual stores. This allows tourists to shop across multiple outlets and enjoy one-stop tax refund services—a more efficient, traveler-friendly experience.
Kingglory Plaza, located in the heart of Luohu’s Renminnan business district and adjacent to the Luohu Port connecting Shenzhen and Hong Kong, is a prime destination for both Hong Kong residents and mainland tourists. With 120,000 square meters of open commercial space, the mall features a mix of fashion, international dining, tech retailers, and lifestyle services including Yonghui Supermarket and Nanguo Cinema.
As an iconic international shopping landmark in Luohu, Kingglory Plaza is actively building a seamless consumption environment for inbound tourists. Over 100 global brands—including DIOR, BOSS, COACH, POLO Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, and Chow Tai Fook Watches—have joined the instant tax refund system. The service now spans luxury goods, fashion, and electronics, offering a world-class “shop-and-refund-in-one” experience.
The launch of this new tax refund point reflects Shenzhen’s commitment to making the city more accessible and appealing to international consumers. It is also a key initiative in Luohu’s broader strategy to enhance its position as a gateway for cross-border consumption and contribute to the city’s ambition of becoming a leading International Consumption Center City.
