The 2025 Beijing Parks Arts Season launched Monday night at the Temple of Heaven Park, bringing together renowned painters, performing artists, and park performers for a series of events across the city.
The festival, hosted by the Beijing Municipal Forestry and Park Bureau, the Beijing Municipal Administration Center of Parks, and the China National Society for the Promotion of Arts and Culture, will take place at major parks throughout the city from July 1 to Aug. 31.
The event will feature more than 1,000 activities, including art exhibitions, performances, forums, and intangible cultural heritage experiences across six major sections and 110 programs.
The 2025 season will place greater emphasis on thematic art expression than the inaugural 2024 edition, organizers said. The event features exhibitions, musical performances and evening entertainment, with expanded programming in intangible cultural heritage, craftsmanship workshops and folk art tours.
Parks will host art exhibitions, including contemporary Chinese painting masters at the Summer Palace and a national printmaking exhibition at the Temple of Heaven Park.
Musical performances will take place at the National Botanical Garden, Zizhuyuan, Yuyuantan and Longtan Middle Lake parks.
In the evenings, a rich lineup of nighttime cultural activities will light up parks including Jingshan, Beihai, Ditan and Xiadu, inviting residents and visitors to experience the unique charm of art after dark.
