Microsoft posted on Wednesday its revenue of 70.1 billion U.S. dollars for the third quarter of the 2025 fiscal year ending March 31, up 13 percent from the same period of last fiscal year.

The company generated a quarterly net income of 25.8 billion dollars, an increase of 18 percent year on year, and its diluted earnings per share went up 18 percent to 3.46 dollars. Its operating income was 32.0 billion dollars and increased 16 percent, Microsoft said in its financial report.

The company's revenue in Productivity and Business Processes was 29.9 billion dollars, an increase of 10 percent year on year; revenue in Intelligent Cloud was 26.8 billion dollars, an increase of 21 percent; and revenue in More Personal Computing was 13.4 billion dollars, a 6 percent increase.

Microsoft returned 9.7 billion dollars to shareholders in the form of share repurchases and dividends in the quarter.

"We delivered a strong quarter with Microsoft Cloud revenue of 42.4 billion dollars, up 20 percent (up 22 percent in constant currency) year-over-year driven by continued demand for our differentiated offerings," said Amy Hood, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Microsoft.
