Some ambassadors to China have attended the opening ceremony of the annual NPC session many times and they are looking forward to more changes this year.
Belgian ambassador to China Bernard Pierre, said, "this is the first session after the 17th CPC conference, new generation of leadership."
Many showed great interest in China's new economic policies.
Tanzanian ambassador to China Omar R. Mapuri, said, "Chinese economic development is a miracle, looking forward to more policies for faster growth."
Swedish ambassador to China Mikael Lindstorm said, "the world economy is in a down turn, more efforts needed in China to maintain the growth."
Some attribute the country's economic progress to its opening up policy. They hope the policy which began thirty years ago... will continue.
Irish ambassador to China Declan Kelleher said, "I hope the opening up policy will be continued."
The foreign envoys joined the nearly 3,000 legislators from around the country in the Great Hall of the People and listened to Premier Wen Jiabao's government work report.
As an important player in the world economic and trade arena, China has become much more interdependent than ever with many other countries. Many observers say a stable China with steady economic growth will be of benefit to the world.
